Rajasthan fast becoming a hub of ‘marriage tourism’
Rajasthan has always enchanted the West, be its forts and palaces,
culture, or ethnic costumes. For foreign tourists, the desert state has
been a number one destination. But off late, the Westerners are
choosing Rajasthan as ‘marriage destination’. Western couples are
arriving in the state to solemnise their wedding according to Indian
rites, which they believe will make their bond stronger. Places like
Pushkar, Udaipur, Jaipur and Jaisalmer have become major destinations
for foreign tourists and cash-rich NRIs. The big palaces and heritage
hotels serve as the perfect venues. Add to that camels, elephants and
ethnic jewellery, and they make Rajasthan a hot destination for royal
weddings.
