From - Michiel Schuit
To - Creative Travel
Dear Mr. Dogra,
Thank you very much for you great planning, care and advice. All
hotels were extremely pleasant and we are very satisfied with your
recommendations! The trip was smooth from the moment we were met by
Devender at arrival until we were dropped off by him at customs at
the airport. We greatly appreciated the courtesy and care of all
your local staff at Creative. Your selection of guides was
outstanding as they were knowledgeable about all topics and local
customs. Our apologies if we asked too many nosy questions, some
which may have been too direct as is our custom in New York City.
Also, you made a very good choice selecting our dedicated bus driver
and assistant – we felt safe at all times and no time was wasted in
traffic.
Hopefully we will be back soon to see more of your lovely country
and nice people. Maybe we will stop by next year to see India teach
a lesson to The Netherland’s cricket team.
Thank you and all your colleagues for making this a very memorable
trip for our family.
Best regards,
Michiel Schuit

Lonely Planet's top 10 iconic travel
experiences includes yoga in Rishikesh
In the recently published Lonely Planet’s 1000 Ultimate Experiences, Yoga
in Rishikesh is on the 4th spot in the "top 10 iconic experiences
that are as special as the place they’re from." The write up says “A trip to the
birthplace of yoga is an obvious choice if you’re looking for a
mystical experience inside and out." Not only does yoga promote
relaxation through meditation; research conducted by the University
of Texas has revealed it can help alleviate the negative side
effects of cancer treatment. At Rishikesh, in the serene foothills
of the Himalayas, special retreats invite novices to practice
stretching, breathing and contemplation alongside qualified yogi
masters. |

Ministry of Tourism says Tiger
Reserves in India to remain open for Tourism
Dismissing reports that it is planning a ban on tourism in tiger
reserves, the Ministry of Tourism said there is no such proposal.
The environment and forests minister, Mr Jairam Ramesh, said “I
would like to state categorically that there is no such proposal.
But in 39 tiger reserves in the country, tourism will be strictly
regulated. While pointing out that tourism is essential, Mr Ramesh
said revenues from tourism must flow back directly into the
management of each of the tiger reserves so that local communities
can benefit. These clarifications were issued following reports that
the National Tiger Conservation Authority was planning to phase out
tourism in the core area of India’s tiger reserves because large
numbers of visitors were destroying the cat’s habitat and driving
away prey. |

Tiger’s Nest makes it to the
Travel+Leisure’s World’s 10 Most Amazing Views List
Tiger’s Nest or Paro Taktsang Monastery has made it to the
Travel+Leisure’s 10 Most Amazing Views from around the globe list.
This list features the world’s most iconic vistas that are part of
the travel canon for good reason. They induce wanderlust, they get
us thinking about the four corners of the earth as well as
humankind’s minor place in the scheme of things and when we see
them in person, we are startled and humbled by their physical
magnificence. The Tiger’s clings like lichen to rocky cliffs in
Bhutan’s Paro Valley and creates an awed silence among visitors,
broken only by the sound of rustling prayer flags and chanting
monks. The best vistas are from the gardens of Sangtopelri and
hermitages atop the mountain above Tiger’s Nest, accessed by the
winding trail used by monks. The best time to go is April and May,
for the spring flowers and Paro Festival. |
