  Creative Travel's Annual Chaat Party
Every year, in January, we have our famous "Chaat Party". This is when we call our friends from the hotels and airlines just to say thank you over an afternoon of mouth watering feast. It is also an opportunity for our team to meet the people they speak to on the phones throughout the year. After all, its good to put a face behind a name. This year we had over 500 guests. It seems the popularity of the party keeps on growing every year.

For those unfamiliar with the Indian passion that is "Chaat", here is a link to read up on it -

  Elephant Festival Jaipur
19th March, 2011

In Indian Subcontinent the elephant has been the symbol of strength and royalty since time immemorial. This giant of the forest, with his intelligence and strength attained mythical status. Domesticated and inducted into the elephant cavalry, they have stood as guardians of the North-west frontier with the Rajput warrior since the Arrival of Alexander the Great. Jaipur honors this age old relationship by conducting the annual Elephant festival in their honor. The festival with its parade of decorated elephants and other activities commemorating ancient martial traditions are a sight not to be missed.

  Forsyth’s LODGE SATPURA
It is believed that a well thought out and responsible wildlife tourism is the most important & potent tool in wildlife conservation. Involvement of the local community and local authorities with a focus is not only on the big more famous animals like tigers and Indian Bison but also on the flora fauna and the lesser known yet indigenous denizens of the forest. Forsyth’s Lodge Satpura, is located near the village of Sarangpur opposite the Satpura Tiger Reserve embodies this belief in spirit & soul. Satpura itself is a newly discovered quiet and wild destination with many unique experiences to offer. A person in tune with nature, after experiencing the tight focus on the tiger accompanied by the crowds in other sanctuaries & park, will find it a relief to melt back into the steady natural rhythm of the wilderness.   Asia the most profitable region
In 2011, Asian carriers are expected to report a profit of around USD4.6 billion of the global profit of USD9.1 billion. This compares with USD3.2 billion from North American carriers, USD700 million from Latin America, USD400 million from Middle Eastern carriers and USD100 million for their European counterparts. This clearly highlights the importance of Asia to the future of the industry. Much of this can be related to the economic development in the region with Mr Bisignini stating: "Look at one number, GDP. When you see Singapore ... and China have double-digit growth and in Europe we're struggling between 1 and 2%, that's how the industry is going." IATA also noted that based on market captilisation, there is a similar shift eastward. The five largest airlines in the world by market capitalisation are Air China at USD20 billion, the combined LAN and TAM at USD15 billion, Singapore Airlines at USD14 billion, Cathay Pacific at USD12 billion and China Southern at USD11 billion.

China to be largest contributor of new passengers
China will be the largest contributor of new passengers, accounting for 214 million - 181 million domestic and 33 million international - or 27% of the 800 million increase in passengers between 2009 and 2014. Some 360 million (45%) of the new passengers will travel on Asia Pacific routes as the UAE, Vietnam and Malaysia also witness considerable growth in international passengers. The US will remain the largest single-country market for domestic passengers (671 million) and international passengers (215 million).

Sources informed that the airline is evaluating to add cities such as Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Jaipur to its network, if it gets the required regulatory approvals in the current calendar year. “India, a fast-growing market, is important for us. We are looking at a progressive but reasonable increase in our services in the years to come,” added sources.

Jet adds two international flights, takes daily roster to 100
MUMBAI: Jet Airways Monday announced the addition of two more international flights to its schedule, taking the number of such daily services to 100. The new services are from Mumbai to Dammam - the fourth daily service from India to Saudi Arabia - and Dubai. The airline currently operates daily flights from Mumbai to Riyadh and Jeddah and from Thiruvananthapuram to Dammam. The airline also operates daily direct flights to the United Arab Emirates from Chennai, Delhi and Hyderabad, which makes the additional flight from Mumbai the sixth daily direct service on this sector.

Jet seeks nod for direct flight to US
After connecting destinations in Europe, West Asia and Southeast Asia, Jet Airways has sought permission to fly directly to the United States from next winter. The winter schedule starts in October. “Jet has asked permission to fly to New York, directly. The flights could be either from Delhi or Mumbai and the airline wants to fly on all seven days a week,” said a senior civil aviation ministry official seeking anonymity.

IATA forecasts 3.3 billion pax by 2014; shift eastward with 1 billion expected in Asia
Global air travel is expected to increase to 3.3 billion passengers by 2014, up by a third from 2.5 billion passengers in 2009, according to IATA. Growth will be driven by strong economic activity in Asia which will act as a key driver to the industry’s expansion. The region is not only driving growth but also the “profits and the money” are now in this region. International aviation is expected to handle 38 million tonnes of air cargo by 2014, up 46% on 2009.
