Nepal The Himalayan Kingdom

Nepal is a country of sublime beauty, tucked away in the shades of the highest mountain range in the world, often called the “last paradise” on earth. Small yet charming, Nepal offers unique ways to experience this ancient land – from some of the most scenic landscapes of the region to the spiritual secrets of Tibetan Buddhism. The centres of its towns burst with a vibrant culture that comes alive in the stunning shrines and monasteries sprinkled across the Nepalese landscape, offering a rich insight into the heritage of the region.

Day 1 Kathmandu
Arrive at Kathmandu’s International Airport. Remember to watch out for the impressive Himalayas from your plane window before your flight begins its descent into Kathmandu.

Day 2 Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, we drive down to the old Newari city of Bhaktapur, about one hour from the city. Bhaktapur, which literally means the“city of devotees”is home to exquisite medieval art and architecture. Here, we will visit the Durbar Square, which offers a collection of temples and pagodas exemplifying the beauty of Nepalese architecture. Later, we drive down to Boudhanath Stupa, Asia’s largest stupa with an imposing gilded tower at its centre; and then to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the oldest Hindu Temples dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Day 3 Pokhara
After breakfast, board the flight drive to Pokhara. The rare combination of snow-clad peaks and snow-fed lakes and rivers has helped make the valley of Pokhara one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the kingdom. Take a boat trip on the enchanting Phewa Lake, the central attraction of the valley. Spend a quiet afternoon watching the beautiful reflections of Mount Machhapuchhre and Annapurna range on the crystal-clear water of the lake. And observing the attractions nearby, including a pagoda-style temple

Day 4 Pokhara
Early this morning, we will visit Sarangkot, a small village set amidst the hills and one of the best spots to watch the sun rise, with panoramic views of Pokhara city and Fewa Lake below. After breakfast at the hotel, take a tour of the city, including Devi’s Fall and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, which features a huge stalagmite worshiped as a Shiva lingam; followed by a spectacular view of the Seti River Gorge from the KI Singh Bridge. Later, we visit the Old Bazaar, where you can shop for traditional crafts. And the International Mountain Museum, a fascinating place that showcases some of the mysteries of the mighty Himalayas.

Day 5 Kathmandu
After breakfast, fly to Kathmandu. Visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Here, you will see the temple of the Living Goddess who acknowledges the greetings of the devotees from the balcony of her temple residence. Next, visit the Swayambhunath Stupa, located approximately 4 km from the city and believed to be over 2000 years old. In the evening, we will take a rickshaw ride around Thamel, the most popular tourist hub in the city of Kathmandu, packed with shops selling everything from clothes to walking and mountaineering gear, confectionaries, and handicrafts; as well as some of the best restaurants in town. Discover Kathmandu like a local as we explore the alleys of the area on this ride.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast, you have the rest of the day to enjoy at leisure, before we drive to the airport for your flight back home.
