Welcome to another edition of
"Creatively Yours"
the newsletter from Creative Travel India
Dear Industry
Colleagues :
This email was to have been
sent out last week, but got held back. As it is going out today, we are
taking the opportunity to add in the final update on the unfortunate
incident that happened in Jaipur last evening. What happened was a poor
show of humanity. Many of you have written mails of support and we
truly appreciate that. As an Indian, I am proud of the fact that these
cowardly acts have never been able to shake the basic fabric of the
nation. Terrorist will come and go, but life for us will move and
upwards.

Incentive to Nepal
Late last month we concluded a very successful operation of an
incentive of 102 Argentinean to Nepal. This was a truly wonderful
program, both as an experience for the guests and also for us
operationally as a team. Month of planning and detailing paid off. This
was particularly challenging given the fluid political situation of
Nepal over the past year as well as the fact that elections had just
taken place in the country. Despite this, the client placed their trust
in our incentive partner and Creative to pull it off. We are proud to
say that trust was upheld.
Here is a short note from our partner. If
you would like more details on the program, drop us a line. |

India in the
Summer... |
|
|
|
|
|
Going
back to India and the summer. There is a lot of misconception out there
why India cannot be visited in summer. Not all true. There is a lot one
can do in summer and the best part is that we can leverage our volumes
from the season into some great deals into the off season.
Some reasons to visit India in the Summer include -
-
The
best value possible - you get to stay in some of the finest hotels in
the world at prices that you would pay for a 4 star hotel in the
winter.
-
For
wildlife lovers, late April and May are the best times of year to see
the famous Indian tiger. This elusive animal stays closer to the water
during this time, and is more easily seen.
-
It’s
cooler than you think! Particularly in the desert regions of Rajasthan,
the peak heat is between 11:30 am and 4:30 pm, when you could relax and
enjoy the hotel. Sightseeing can be done in relative comfort in the
early mornings and the evenings. The Indian summer is not hotter than
many other destinations that you would consider in the summer months -
Dubai, Spain, Miami, etc.
-
Enjoy the
monuments without the crowds - you have the luxury of visiting the
monuments in the cities you visit, without having hundreds of tour
buses present at the same time.
-
Enjoy the
hotels - with lower summer occupancies, you can enjoy the hotels to
their fullest. Use the spa without having to book it in advance, step
into the restaurants without a reservation, have the pool to
yourself.....
If you would like to explore how we can
help you make India a special destination to sell this summer, let us
know. We have some amazing deals from our partners like the Taj group
and Oberoi hotels and many more.

Tulip garden in Srinagar attracts tourists
An explosion of colour in Asia's largest recreational tulip garden has
emerged after 60 varieties were imported from Netherlands and planted in
the Siraj Bagh Tulip Garden only a few months ago. The sight of 12 lakh
blooming tulips is magnificent. The bloom is one week early but no one's
complaining. Set in the foothills of the Zabarwan Mountains on the banks
of the Dal Lake, this garden is fast becoming another tourist attraction.
The tulip bloom coincides with the almond bloom in Kashmir. And by
constructing tulip and almond gardens on the bank of Dal Lake, the
government is using flower power to attract tourists to Kashmir. |

Red Machchhenhranath Rath Jatra
This festival is the biggest socio-cultural event of Patan and takes place
in May-June. During the celebrations the towering chariot of Lord Machchhendranath is pulled by ropes through the narrow streets of the
city, followed by a large crowd of worshippers in front of the chariot. A
small crowd of musicians and soldiers add even more excitement to the
occasion. Over a period of several weeks, the chariot is slowly hauled to
Jawalakhel where thousands of devotees burn oil lamps and keep an
all-night vigil. During this chariot festival the Bhoto or Sacred
waistcoat, itself the subject to many legends, is displayed from the
chariot. A final ritual is then conducted to mark Lord Machchhendranath's
yearly return to his home in the nearby village of Bungmati. |

Summer Festival Mount Abu - 18th - 20th May
2008
Mount Abu is the highest peak in Rajasthan. It is referred to as 'an oasis
in the desert', as its heights are home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and
evergreen forests. Mount Abu is touched by a festive mood on the eve of
the Summer Festival, held every year during Budh Poornima. The summer
festival in Mount Abu, a three day festival, is basically a feast of folk
and classical music. It gives a vivid knowledge about the tribal life and
culture of Rajasthan. Mount Abu is bestowed with steep rocks, tranquil
lakes, picturesque backdrop and a favourable climate, all of which make it
a perfect spot for the festival. The hospitality of the people, their
colourful culture and exotic location made this festival a never to be
forgotten experience.
The festival begins with the singing of a ballad which is followed by folk
dances which enthrall the spectators. The second and third day of the
festival is more attractive as various competitions are organized for the
whole day. Skating Race, skater's Show, CRPF Band Show, Boat Race, Horse
Race, Tug of War, Panihari Matka Race and Deepdan add more enthusiasm to
the festival.
The Sham-e-Qawwali is a much awaited musical extravaganza as renowned
qawwals or singers from all over the country can be heard entertaining the
audience. The grand finale of the summer festival in Mount Abu is a
display of dazzling fireworks which catches the fancy of every tourist. |
