Welcome to another edition of "Creatively Yours"
the newsletter from Creative Travel India
|
|
Dear Industry Colleagues:
Here is another edition of the award winning "Creatively Yours", and
Happy New Year again to all our friends across the world.
It seems just like yesterday when the world was talking about
computers crashing, planes falling down, bank accounts being wiped
clean, all because a new millennium was beginning. A decade has now
passed as has a lot of water under the proverbial bridge. Worries
and concerns have moved from computer glitches to terrorism, natural
disasters and economic crises. The pace of life has become faster,
the need to just survive more apparent and the concerns for the
future more alarmist. Never has been the desire & need to just slow
down and smell the roses been greater. Time sure does fly and the
world sure has changed.
I read something that the great imaginer Walt Disney said “Too many
people grow up. That's the real trouble with the world, too many
people grow up. They forget. They don't remember what it's like to
be 12 years old”. How very true. I will add to that something else I
read- “growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional”.
I don’t know what resolutions you have made, but at least I feel
that it’s time to stop and take a look at what we have accomplished,
reflect on our successes and be grateful for all the blessings we
have. We in the greater travel industry are fortunate to be in a
role where we help people fulfill their dreams, to allow travelers
experience the wonders of our planet, natural or manmade. Few
occupations put you in a place where your success are instantly seen
in the smiles of your guests as they come face to face with sites
they only read about in books. We in the travel industry have
perhaps one of the most demanding jobs, taking a toll of us not only
physically but emotionally as well. But we also have the most fun,
people oriented and creative occupations one can wish for.
We Indians don't believe in looking back. As a nation fascinated by
astrology, palmistry, numerology, palm leaf reading and what have
you, we always look at the future for what it holds and for the
opportunities it will bring. If there is something we don't like,
there is always a religious ceremony around to fix it. We are a
nation of contrasts, of challenges, of organized chaos, of enormous
beauty. We are a country of people who believe in the power of the
self and the power of the almighty. India is an unexplainable
phenomenon and Indians can sometimes be odd, but we are a people who
believe truly 2011 will be a better year for us all.
For us in the Creative Travel family, 2011 brings in our 34th year
of being amongst India’s most respect travel companies. The end of
the year past saw positive trends for business and we look at 2011
as heralding exciting new opportunities for our team. We have a lot
of new plans for the company and none of that would be possible
without the love and support from our friends and partners all over
the world.
So wherever you are and whatever your heart desires, the entire team
at Creative Travel & Plan it! Meetings & Conferences wish you and
your loved ones a great and joyful 2011.

Taj city hopes for cleaner, greener
2011
Agra - The city of the Taj can look forward to a whole lot of new
developments in 2011, from banning of polythene bags, a much-needed
war on encroachments around historical monuments, streamlining
traffic and completion of the vital Yamuna Expressway. The once
Mughal capital seems headed to transforming into a modern
metropolis. The most important development is the banning of
polythene bags from Jan 1, announced by the Agra Municipal
Corporation. The other new year initiatives are: war against
encroachments by district authorities in tandem with the
Archaeological Survey of India to free historical monuments of
trespassers and a comprehensive scientific plan to streamline
traffic movement in the city from Jan 1. |

Tourism receives boost with launch of
CHC
Sri Lanka tourism received a fresh boost with the launch of Comfort
Health Care (CHC) Sri Lanka in partnership with Comfort Health Care,
India, a reputed medical tourism services provider. Medical tourism
is a niche market in tourist destinations in Asia due to the
yearning for indigenous and nature-friendly healthcare among Western
travellers. Asia is home to some of the world’s best medical
treatment and healthcare facilities provided at a low cost. Ayurveda,
acupuncture and yoga meditation to name a few had its birth in the
region.
