Creative Travel's Annual Chaat Party Every year on the second Saturday of January, we have our famous "Chaat Party". This is when we call our friends from the hotels and airlines just to say thank you over an afternoon of mouth watering feast. It is also an opportunity for our team to meet the people they speak to on the phones throughout the year. After all, its good to put a face behind a name. This year we had over 450 guests. It seems the popularity of the party keeps on growing every year. For those unfamiliar with the Indian passion that is "Chaat", here is a link to read up on it - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaat If you were at the party this year, you can see the pictures at - Click here to view the 2008 Creative Travel Annual Chaat Party album.... |

We at Creative track guest feedback very carefully. Each evaluation form gives us an insight on our operations and allows us to constantly refine our service delivery process. Now and then we get a few letters that brighten up our days. These are some of them : Friday, December 21, 2007 From - Geraldine Walls To - Creative Travel Dear Creative Travel: I was in India from 10-28-07 until 11-6-07. I am sending this e-mail to let you know how much I enjoyed India. I also want you to know, your Travel Agency had a lot to do with with me having a great time. The tour guides that you provided were the best, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. They were so professional, and very nice especially the gentleman that met me at the airport, and checked me into my hotel my first day. He also took me to the airport on my last day there. I do not remember his name, but I must say he was excellent at what he does, and I would like to say to him job well done. I would also like to compliment your driver, that you assigned to me, by the name of Tarsem Singh Rana. He was the best part of my trip, because we spent a lot of time together, and he made me feel so welcome. He was so knowledgeable about India, I was able to learn a lot from him. He was a great driver, and driving is not easy to do in your country. I feel like I left a friend behind and I think about him often. Please tell him hello and for him and his family to have a merry Christmas and happy new year. I would like to thank your agency for acknowledging my 60th birthday. That was such a nice touch and pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend Creative Travel to anyone, job well done. Sincerely Geraldine Walls Chicago |

Nepal TIMS to be implemented from January 1 An agreement has been signed between Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) with an objective of maintaining the database of trekkers and discouraging illegal operation in trekking business to implement the Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) from 1st January 2008. As per the provision, all trekkers should have the valid TIMS Certificate that is distributed free of charge by the TIMS counters of NTB and TAAN. Nepal Tourism Board will provide TIMS Certificate free of cost to both trekkers who wish to go to trekking through government registered trekking companies and individual trekkers(FIT). As per agreement, TAAN would use the offices of all its member agents as TIMS Counter. Trekking agencies that aren't affiliated with TAAN, however, have to get TIMS certificates from either TAAN Secretariat or NTB. Similarly, TAAN's Pokhara Chapter member agencies of TAAN Pokhara Chapter would distribute TIMS Certificate in Pokhara. It is believed that the database will become useful to rescue the trekkers during the emergencies and it will also help us to ascertain the number of trekkers in a particular trekking route. TIMS Certificate can be obtained from NTB Office, Bhrikutimandap, NTB Office Pokhara, Belahia-Bhairahawa, Gadda Chauki- Mahendranagar, Kakarvitta and other designated counters by NTB in future. |

Green Hills Estate by Neemrana properties opens in Coorg The Green Hills Estate, residence of the Diwans of Rajas of the Coorg, was built in 1898. This grand mansion sits on a raised clearing in the rainforest, among a hundred acres of coffee and cardamom plantations, paddy fields and the pepper vines. Driving to the Green Hills Estate takes one across the Cauvery river- which flows five kilometers from the property. The interiors are reminiscent of the planters' bungalows with lazy furniture and rosewood paneled walls. Neemrana Properties adds ‘Le Colonial’ in
Cochin Le Colonial, by the Chinese fishing nets of Cochin is probably Asia's oldest colonial house - dating back to 1506. Just adjacent to St. Francis Church, it is reputed to have housed Vasco da Gama and the Saint. After 150 years as the Portuguese Governor’s home, it was one of the rare houses not to be destroyed when Dutch took Fort Cochin. It housed the Dutch Governors for century and a half till it was sold to the British in 1795, who in turn, passed it to J.Thomas, the legendary English trader of tea. These five captive centuries of history have been lovingly restored. Art treasures from the colonial past now revive a scent of that era. |

Tea Factory among top 5 Factory Hotels in the world London-based The Independent recently released its review of the top five factory hotels in the world with Sri Lanka’s first theme hotel, The Tea Factory being selected as one of them. The balance four hotels hail from Spain, Greece, Italy and Australia. The Tea Factory is located on the slopes of the tea plantations at Kandapola, high above the Nuwara Eliya town. Built during the British Raj in the 1930s, it was later resurrected in 1992 and transformed into a luxury hotel. It has been converted so that much of the original style and machinery remains a reminder of the past in perfect blend with innovations of the present. The view from the rooms at the front of the hotel is a wonderful panorama of tea and at its rear; a peaceful pastoral scene of hamlets, hills and forest, as well as more tea meets your gaze. |
