The Fort Bazaar, Galle Fort, Sri Lanka to open in January 2016

Galle Fort, a 400-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, will welcome its newest boutique hotel, The Fort Bazaar, in November 2015. Set within its own original coral walls on historic Church Street – an atmospheric central thoroughfare – this stunning hotel will offer 18 rooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, a library, a cinema, a spa and a 15-metre swimming pool.
There are three categories of room at The Fort Bazaar. The 15 ‘Bazaar’ and ‘Banyan’ bedrooms are stylish and indulgent, and several of these interconnect to form ‘Family Suites’. The three ‘Upper Suites’ are particularly spacious and benefit from balconies boasting views over the fort’s red-tiled rooftops to the Indian Ocean beyond.

Conceived by the team behind the award-winning The Wallawwa (Condé Nast Traveller – Gold List 2015), guests staying at The Fort Bazaar can expect a similarly high standard of comfort and service. The Fort Bazaar will also entice Galle Fort day-trippers with the promise of blissful spa treatments, a vibrant bar and a gourmet restaurant, with acclaimed Australian chef Neal Giles at the helm.
The hotel is ideally located for visiting Galle Fort’s sights and attractions, as well as Galle’s famed international test cricket ground and the region’s sandy beaches.
