Taj Hotels
Resorts and
Palaces unveils
Tajness, a
living concept
aiming to
provide an
unforgettable
experience of
India's age-old
traditions,
blended with
influences from
local cultures.
The emotion was
palpable in the
air as employees
of the Taj Group
came on stage as
part of the
grand finale of
a stunning
fashion show,
flaunting their
newly launched
'staff attire'
designed by
Payal Jain. She
drew on an
earthy palette,
monochromes and
fabrics from
Banarasi
tradition that
breathed a life
of their own
into the show
that was the
culmination of
an evening that
saw brand Taj
being given a
new image
makeover.
Despite the
incessant rain
and flooding,
the biggest and
brightest names
in the city
turned up in
large numbers at
the appointed
hour (6.30 pm)
at the iconic
Taj Mahal
Palace, Apollo
Bunder, to
witness the
unveiling of a
concept called
Tajness, by MD
and CEO of Taj
Hotels Rakesh
Sarna. The sole
purpose of this
new concept is
to go back to
the roots of
Indian culture--Tajness
will seek
inspiration from
the country's
age-old heritage
and blend it
with the local
cultures in
order to provide
an unforgettable
experience to
its guests.
Impeccably
dressed women in
stunning, rich
saris the
colours of the
evening sky, men
in bandhgalas
and suits; it
was an event
that brought the
best of Mumbai
together under
one roof.
In addition to
the introduction
of rituals (like
the morning wake
up ritual, tea
ritual or the
sunset ritual)
that will be
standardised
across the group
to reflect this
dictum of
sincere care, an
attempt is also
being made by
the brand to be
more accessible
to new
millennials via
a mobile app
that is in the
pipeline and
they also plan
to make check in
and out virtual
soon.
Tajness is
likely to be
rolled out
across all 100
Taj hotels in
India and
internationally
in a staggered
manner with
completion
scheduled at the
end of 2017. |
