Air Canada ramps
up Indian
operations with
second Delhi
route |
|
|
|
Less than six
months after the
launch of its
inaugural flight
from Toronto to
Delhi, Air
Canada has
unveiled plans
to introduce a
second direct
service to the
Indian capital.
On 20 October
2016, the
airline will
launch three
weekly flights
between
Vancouver and
Delhi, using its
new Boeing 787
Dreamliner
aircraft. This
will mark the
first time this
route has been
operated
non-stop.
Flights will
depart Vancouver
every Tuesday,
Thursday and
Saturday at 2140
and arrive in
Delhi at 0120
two days later,
having crossed
the
International
Date Line. The
return service
will then leave
the Indian
capital every
Monday, Thursday
and Saturday at
0630, arriving
back in
Vancouver at
0655 the same
day.
Craig Richmond,
president & CEO
at Vancouver
International
Airport, said
that the local
community has
“requested this
route for many
years”.
“It will be a
pleasure to
celebrate its
arrival during
Diwali. I would
like to thank
our
long-standing
partner Air
Canada for
opening up this
exciting new
route and for
supporting us in
our vision to be
a… connecting
hub between Asia
and the
Americas,” he
added. |

AirAsia suspends
Kuala Lumpur-Goa
flights |
|
|
|
AirAsia will
suspend its
thrice weekly
flights from
Kuala Lumpur to
Goa on 7 June
2016, as part of
its route
rationalisation
plan.
Spencer Lee,
AirAsia’s head
of commercial,
said, “We take
very careful
considerations
for every new
route that we
introduce.
However this
suspension is
due to our route
rationalisation
exercise.
Despite this
route
adjustment, we
remain committed
to the Indian
market and look
forward to
return to Goa in
the future.”
Passengers
affected by this
suspension will
be offered three
options,
including moving
their flight
date forward,
full credit for
another AirAsia

Following the
suspension of
the Goa route,
Kuala
Lumpur-based

to six Indian
cities: Kochi,
Chennai,
Tiruchirappalli,
Hyderabad,
Bengaluru and
