Fish Cutlets
The Fish Cutlet recipe is very easy to make. It can be served as an appetizer, snack or a side dish.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 18 minutes
Makes 8 cutlets

Ingredients
  • 250 gms. King fish (surmai) fillets
  • 1 teaspoon green chillies, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coriander, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin (jeera) powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste

Method

  • In a microwave safe bowl, add 1/4 cup of water, fish fillets and salt and microwave on High for 7minutes.
  • Remove and drain and discard the water and mash the fish to coarse paste using a fork or the back of a spoon.
  • Add the green chillies, coriander, ginger paste, cumin powder, bread crumbs, egg and salt and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a flat cutlet.
    Grease the crusty plate with the oil and using oven + grill option preheat for 3 minutes at 220º C (440º F). Place the cutlets on the preheated crusty plate and using the oven + grill option, bake for 8 minutes at 220º C (440º F) turning the cutlets over after 4 minutes.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
